It’s that time of year again – Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2:00 am on Sunday, November 6th, 2022. This means the clocks go back by one hour.
What is Daylight Saving Time?
It’s a practice in most parts of Canada, Australia, and the United States that advances clocks during the warmer months so darkness falls at a later time. Typically, in the spring the clocks are set one hour ahead (‘spring forward’), and in the fall are set one hour behind (‘fall back’), returning to standard time.
Unlike previous generations, many of the tools we use to tell time are connected to networks that keep the time changes automatic. Although, many microwaves, stoves and other appliances with clocks still require the manual time change and can cause confusion – and in some cases running late!
