City of Calgary: Assessment Notices & eNotice Contest

The following information was sent to the CRRA from The City of Calgary Assessment and Tax Department

2023 Assessment Notices

2023 assessment notices will be mailed to all property owners and available online on January 4. This kicks off our Customer Review Period which will run until March 13. We strongly encourage property owners to review their assessment details and contact Assessment & Tax if they have any questions. As you know, the tax rates will not be finalized until the spring, but property owners can estimate property taxes based on preliminary Council direction by visiting our property tax calculator.

Go Paperless Contest

New this year is the Go Paperless Contest, running from Jan. 1 to March 31, 2023, to encourage property owners to make the switch from paper to electronic assessment notices. When they do, they can enter for a chance to win one of 12 prizes of $250 Visa gift card. Four prizes will be drawn each month (February, March and April). This contest is open to eligible property owners who have signed up for eNotice, including new and existing eNotice subscribers. To enter, property owners must complete the entry form by using the link provided on the confirmation email sent when they register for eNotice or the link provided on their 2023 property assessment notice email. Full Contest details are provided on calgary.ca/gopaperless. Making this switch will save time, trees, and tax dollars for Calgarians and The City by reducing the number paper assessment notices we mail each year and enabling us to make more information accessible property owners online.

Ask the City Assessor

On Jan. 17 from 7 to 8 p.m. we will once again offer an Ask the City Assessor event. This virtual Q&A session on MS Teams is open to property owners and the public. During this event, participants can ask general property assessment questions. Registration is required. For more information please visit calgary.ca/assessment.
